Raven’s Story

Here are before and after pictures of Raven, a four year old rescue Papillon.  He was surrendered to us in October of 2007.  He was in very poor shape.  He came to us from a family who had recently received him as a gift from overseas.

Two days after he arrived in
Canada, he jumped from a car and fractured his front right leg. He was taken to an emergency vet and euthanization or call papillon rescue was recommended. This is how Raven landed in our care.

We made numerous trips to the vets with this little man.  We had his leg set, we had to have 15 teeth extracted and put him on a special high nutrition diet.  We also had him neutered.  He had the cast on his leg for 16 weeks.  He came to us shaved and weighed only 4.3 lbs.

He went through several months of massage and aquatic therapy.  His leg eventually showed through x-rays that it was totally healed.  This was a big relief to us as amputation was discussed if the leg would not heal.

It is now June of 2008 and his weight is up to 7 lbs., his coat is coming in beautifully as you can see.  His self confidence and personality are growing every day that passes.  Raven is an absolute doll and a pleasure to be around.  He touches everyone's heart he meets.  Raven has found his forever home and will live out the rest of his years where he will be loved, cherished and adored.
